After 1900, 1949 and 1979, Munich hosted the German Individual Championships for the fourth time in May 2025. The event had a large number of participants, a very spacious location in the Gasteig Cultural Center and was well attended. This year's German chess champions in the individual blitz and long chess championships were determined in mammoth tournaments. In the candidate tournaments, the champions of the regional associations played for a good place and perhaps qualification for the championship tournament.

Our employee Olena Kosovska took part in the German Women's Championship from 17-23.05.2025 in the Candidates Tournament and achieved 18th place with 3.5 / 9 points. In 9 rounds (Swiss system) with a thinking time of 90 minutes for 40 moves, a further 30 minutes for the remaining moves and 30 seconds per move from the start, the games often lasted over 3 hours. On 24.05.2025, Ms. Kosovska took part in the German Women's Blitz Chess Championship with a free place entry and achieved 20th place with 10.5 / 28 points. Thanks to the live broadcast of this championship on the Internet, colleagues were able to follow the action at times. Congratulations on the good ranking.
